Summary
Technology preview: Thomas Kang of Softimage Special Projects showed a zipper for Cloth. You can sew different pieces of cloth together and let them break apart. He also showed rigid body dynamics, where you can easily parent shapes together and they act as a full entity and RBD understands the new shape and calculates its new COG directly.
He also showed Elastic Reality morpher for the FX Tree, that would let you create morphs of images, animated it in the timeline and use it directly on textures that would update for your 3d scene.
Hans Payer of Special Projects showed a naming convention manager that would let you specify various folders, paths and names of within a project to save time.
Andy Jones of Pixel Liberation Front presented Linear Lighting and the current problem with Gamma correction for screens and renderings. His in depth papers might be releases later.
Diego Garcia, Remi McGill and Eric Hulser prestented Gentlemen's Duel from Blur Studio. They showed the short film, and showed pipeline tools, their rigging pipeline and how they transfer projects in and out of XSI with point cache.
